Comp Prep training built for Del Mar.

Competition prep at Limitless is the full pipeline: an honest off-season starting point, a 16-24 week prep cycle, training periodization synced to your stage date, macro periodization with refeeds programmed in, posing practice (mandatory poses + transitions), peak week protocols, and contest-day execution — pump-up, water, glycogen, posing oil. Chris has trained alongside Olympia-class bodybuilders and brings that standard to first-time and seasoned competitors alike. We don't take prep clients we can't actually get to the stage in shape. The conversation in the consultation is honest about timeline, capacity, and what's possible.

What's specific to Del Mar

Self Made Training Facility is the home base — a private, members-only training environment built for serious work. Del Mar service area covers the immediate coastal North County corridor.

That context shapes how we program comp prep sessions for Del Mar clients. We're not running a one-size circuit across San Diego — every block is built around the assessment, the goals, and the real-life schedule of the person in front of us.

Comp Prep · Del Mar · Answered

How far out from my show should I start prep?

Minimum 16 weeks for an experienced lifter who's already lean. 20-24 weeks for first-timers or anyone starting more than 10-12 lb above stage weight. Start later than that and you're either crash-dieting or showing up flat.

What federations and divisions do you prep for?

NPC, IFBB Pro qualifiers, Olympia qualifying shows. Men's physique, classic physique, open bodybuilding, women's figure, bikini, wellness. Federation-specific posing differences are baked into prep.

Do you require in-person training, or can we do prep remotely?

Both. In-person for San Diego and surrounding clients. Fully remote for out-of-area competitors — same prescribed program, same weekly check-ins, posing review via video.

How much does competition prep cost?

Prep is a flat package price covering the full 16-24 week cycle including peak week and contest day. Pricing is discussed during the consultation because it depends on cycle length, remote vs. in-person, and number of weekly check-ins.

What if I've never competed before?

First-time competitors are a meaningful chunk of the prep roster. Honest conversation about whether your physique is ready for the division you're considering, and what a realistic first show looks like. Most first-timers benefit from a local NPC show before swinging at an Olympia qualifier.
